Time was when this music festival-going parent saw a weekend retreat to a music festival as an escape from the demands of family obligations. I mean, I was an involved dad and all. When they were squirts, I was the lone daddy who took our kids to “Mommy and Me.” As they grew, I shepherded them to dance competitions and travel hockey tournaments.
But what could be more escapish than critter-free times with a group of friends unleashed into our favorite music and camping scene, with a few libations and whatnot thrown in – especially with the kids in their mother’s able (maybe more able than my own) hands?

Dead & Company played The Gorge last weekend, Bonnaroo is this weekend, and Phish is out there… somewhere. That means the summer music festival and concert season is upon us. Add to that the thousands of RVers who are pulling their rigs out of storage, pulling off the covers, and hitting the highway, and it’s clear that the summer music festival camping season has arrived. Ready to rock? 
When #RoadtripMojo told our fans and followers to “set them dogs up and take a load off” to enter our Music Festival Camping Chair Giveaway, dozens of you did just that. We had plenty of entries and lotsa likes. But – alas – only one would win. That was Matt Collins.
