2 Must-Have Music Festival Campsite Upgrades

NiteIze Reflective / Glow in the dark rope

Making your music festival campsite rock takes a bit of thought and ingenuity. With some creativity, and an adventurous spirit, you can create the environment to capture just the right fest vibe. Our setup, while basically the same at most fests (save for Hulaween!, which we go all out with inflatables, tapestries, and lights), is a continually evolving beast that grows with us as we fest.

As sites are often vastly different, we learn to adapt to different site layouts and features. We typically spend a few hours setting up for a fest; so much can be said for an early arrival. Forest camping is by far our fav; being stacked like a sardine in a parking lot our least. No matter where you end up laying your head at a fest, you can do much to create the right atmosphere to keep your #RoadtripMojo going!

Tweak of the Week: Upgrade Your RV to LED Lights

When you roll your RV or trailer out to a music festival or campground, the rig’s lighting can be an overlooked source of functionality and aesthetic. But do you have the right light for the job? An easy hack which gets a lot of attention is upgrading your RV’s lights to LED.

The Most Important Piece of Camping Gear: Flashlights

From HikingTier’s Best Camping Flashlight

Once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right. Sometimes no matter how hard you look for something, there just isn’t enough light for the task. Camp at enough music festivals and inevitably you get caught in the dark.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been searching the tow vehicle (TV), the storage compartment in the camper, or making my way through a thick stand of sitting / resting / raging music fans in total blackness. Many of our best camping festival sites are steeped in total darkness once the sun goes down.

Tweak of the Week:  Tap the Sun to Keep the RV Battery Charged

Nothing changes my mood more than heading to my trailer Bertha’s storage yard to fetch her for a trip to a music festival, and find the battery’s dead. For many travel trailer owners, it’s not so rare. All the lights, the slide outs, and water pump run on the battery. So much in our rigs runs on the 12v battery system that we may not think about it much if we predominantly use the camper when hooked up to shore power.
