Hammocks Lend Hang-Time to the Camping Music Festival Scene

Venture beneath the trees and into the aura that surrounds the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park’s Amphitheater Stage (oldtimers still call it the “Mushroom Stage”) and something becomes clear. People here love their hammocks. Depending on the music festival or concert, they can number into the dozens strung from the Florida live oaks that are a unique part of the musical production. It’s a sight to behold – laser lights shining through the trees and hammocks hung between them.

Whether at a music festival or out camping among nature, it’s easy to become part of #HammockLife. Cop a hang in someone else’s vacant hammock (Unofficial SOSMP Rule: any open hammock and or festival chair is yours to use until the owner returns), or string up your own, hammocks bring a kind of oneness with the venue.

From the Festival or Park, Lock Your Rig to Explore in Peace

A few years ago at Bryn Mawr RV Resort in St. Augustine, Fla.,  to see Widespread Panic at the St. Aug Amphitheater, a gust of wind blew the RV door closed – locking the RV and F150 keys inside.

Brian and Deana enjoy a moment at the Outlaw County music festival

Deana and Brian have pitched tents in Florida campgrounds and music festivals. But when they bought tickets to the Runaway Country music festival this year in Kissimmee, Florida, they decided to change their lodging to one with a real door – and a host of other amenities – and they rented a camper.

Tweak of the Week: Upgrade Your RV to LED Lights

When you roll your RV or trailer out to a music festival or campground, the rig’s lighting can be an overlooked source of functionality and aesthetic. But do you have the right light for the job? An easy hack which gets a lot of attention is upgrading your RV’s lights to LED.

Easy to replace but just as easily overlooked, LEDs have many advantages over conventional (incandescent) bulbs. Only if you see the light. LED lights last much, much longer than conventional bulbs, and they have dropped in price over the last few years. So it’s a no brainer to upgrade your bulbs.

RV Covers: Protecting Value & Beauty for the Next Roadtrip or Music Festival

Heading out to a music festival or on the open road this season? You’re certain to spend hundreds – even thousands – of dollars each year on RV and travel trailer insurance policies, maintenance programs, and roadside assistance plans. That’s money spent on the possibility of something going wrong. What about investing in something to protect against damage that’s certain to occur?

The roof, sides, and paint job of every RV and travel will suffer wear, tear, and abuse just through everyday use and exposure. Investing in a RV or trailer roof cover or universal cover can stave off the harmful effects of sun, rain, snow, debris, and the elements – and protect the investment, longevity, and resale value.
