Since many people will be at the Florida RV Super Show this week, here’s another look at outdoor kitchens. This under-appreciated feature on select RVs and travel trailers truly elevates the camping experience…
Here at RoadtripMojo, we’ve written a lot about the music festival and RV camping experience. While we dig writing about festival venues and our latest campground experience, nothing jazzes us more than seeing some new outdoor kitchen. Yeh, we’re kinda quirky that way.
So Imagine our elation when we saw a few new innovations from the latest RV show. Outdoor kitchens have come a long way, baby. And we’re stoked to learn about the latest takes on one of our favorite RV design upgrades.
Our own outdoor kitchens in Bertha (a Grand Design Reflection 308RBH) and Mr. Charlie (a Coachman Freedom Express 248RBS) are all that. Between refrigerators, full-sinks, storage, and installed cook surfaces and grills we added, we’re able to prepare and cook meals early while the family or troops sleep inside, when the rest of the family inside is nowhere near awakening.
No need for one of those Blackstone grills (not a fan of uniquely single-purpose appliances). My cast iron griddle surface lies in way to be placed on top to prepare hash browns, eggs, bacon, eggs in the basket, or a midnight grilled cheese.
What once was a rarity, today the outdoor kitchen is a common feature. In fact, check out some sick outdoor kitchens from General RV. The Leprechaun Class C offers an exterior camp kitchen, plus an available exterior entertainment center with LCD TV, stereo, DVD and speakers. The Coachmen Apex mirrors our outdoor kitchen on a towable as small as 21 feet.
