2 Must-Have Music Festival Campsite Upgrades

NiteIze Reflective / Glow in the dark rope

Making your music festival campsite rock takes a bit of thought and ingenuity. With some creativity, and an adventurous spirit, you can create the environment to capture just the right fest vibe. Our setup, while basically the same at most fests (save for Hulaween!, which we go all out with inflatables, tapestries, and lights), is a continually evolving beast that grows with us as we fest.

As sites are often vastly different, we learn to adapt to different site layouts and features. We typically spend a few hours setting up for a fest; so much can be said for an early arrival. Forest camping is by far our fav; being stacked like a sardine in a parking lot our least. No matter where you end up laying your head at a fest, you can do much to create the right atmosphere to keep your #RoadtripMojo going!

Try these two tips to elevate your campsite experience. Then, check back for two more…

Reflective / Glow in the dark rope. Whether for tents, hammocks, or tapestries, this adds not only a cool effect, but also a measure of safety. Nite-Ize is becoming well known for their wide range of products that will light up your night. Many provide the perfect amount of light for the given task, without being obnoxiously bright, and they all have clever attachments so you can quickly add and remove them from backpacks, bicycles, kayaks, you name it! Their reflective rope is highly reflective in very low light, and is highly rated by campers. An alternative source for reflective rope is Aidier, which is an “Amazon Choice” that is slightly less expensive and highly rated. If you’re hanging tapestries, banners, hammocks, or pitching a tent or tarp, reflective ropes will save you from getting tripped up on guy lines when you go on walkabout it in the middle of the night in search of the holy grail of grilled cheese.

Solar powered string lights. These are a great way to add light and cool decor. If you’re in an RV at a full hook up sight, power is readily available. But we still find the solar powered lights much easier to deal with. And there’s no need to run extension cords across the campsite. Lightweight and compact, they’re perfect for tent camping. Solar powered LED lights emit ideal soft glow, much preferred over glaring white, high-powered LED lights. These lights come in a myriad of styles and themes, from butterflies and flowers to mason jars and chili peppers. A quick Google or Amazon search will produce many inexpensive options to get your lighting freak on.

Next time, we’ll look at a couple more site accessories that help put the mojo in your festival campsite experience. Stay tuned.
