4 Tips to Pick the Best Festival Camper

“MacDaddy” Prevost luxury coach

Walking the aisles of the Florida RV SuperShow this weekend, it was easy to be awestruck by the million-dollar motorcoaches. They shone beneath bright stage lights, all polished and new and ready for some buyer to break out the trust-fund checkbook. Yet from the most grand coaches to van-like “class B” Sprinters to respectable towables, there were accommodations for every taste, budget, and festival experience.

Matching the right unit to your lifestyle needs and festival expectations requires a bit of vision.

Nucamp Micro Teardrop Camper: A Quick Look at a Totally Dope Rig

At first glance the Nucamp T@B teardrop camper screams to be taken to a music festival.

Like all teardrop campers, its very small, they come in a few basic sizes and configurations.  Weighing in under 2000 pounds, it can be pulled by most vehicles, including a Mini Cooper, though a Cooper hitched to a T@B may be quite a sight to behold!  This small, lightweight TT (travel trailer) is extremely maneuverable and aerodynamic. Long-time home office architect Neal Zimmerman has created a killer new concept for the home office genre: The Getaway Space.

bloom-writers-studioAnd with a little extrapolation, think about how a shed, cottage — or recreational vehicle — could suit your home office needs.

Not so much a home office or site for a home-based business as a retreat for anyone, the spaces seem part entrepreneur-minded, and part Henry David Thoreau-esque escapism. It’s even ideal for the teleworker who needs a space away from home to get work done.

Neal explores backyard pavilions and personal getaway spaces. He shows why, how and where people are building them, and showcases custom designs, and myriad examples of prefabricated modular units that can be shipped anywhere in the world and quickly assembled. BackTrack My Way to the Home Office – or RV – Again

This past summer, as my family camped outside Concord, Mass., as part of my home office adventure called Home Office Highway.com,  I sauntered into a great wood. I was seeking the spirit of Henry David Thoreau. I was looking for peace and solitude among the evergreens and the crickets.

And I became lost.

I’d ventured off the beaten path onto a road less traveled. And for good reason. As dusk grew dark, it gets freakin’ scary in deep woods unknown. And that’s exactly where I found myself — without a Bushnell BackTrack personal GPS nativation system, locator and compass ($73). Continue reading “BackTrack My Way to the Home Office – or RV – Again”
