Two Tools to Master Your Music Festival Tent or RV Campsite

We’ve written about how to make your music festival campsite rock. But whether you’re stringing lights or hammocks, hanging tarps or tapestries, or scrounging around in the dark around your tent, RV or travel trailer, a couple of key tools can make all the difference in creating the right atmosphere to keep your RoadtripMojo going! Read on to learn more…

Get High with a Collapsable Ladder.  This is definitely for the more adventurous, advanced festival glamper. Hanging tarps, awnings, sail shades and tapestries are but a few of the many tasks that are made simple with the aid of a nice ladder.  Telescoping ladders have become lighter, more compact and less expensive over the last few years, and we recently added a telescoping OHUHU ladder which is in the $70 price range.  As it is not an A frame ladder, it is not self supporting, but the for many of us camping, size and weight are critical, and if its too big and heavy, its not getting packed for the road trip.  This telescoping 8.5ft ladder still has some size and weight to it, but its doable. If you want to be well equipped for the task of creating a memorable festival campsite, a ladder will be a key instrument for your gig.

Start your own light show:  Lasers.  Technology advances and cost continue to fall.  We love the Star Shower laser lights available in many discount outlets and on Amazon.  At s$25 on Amazon, its hard to beat, and produces a much brighter light and has greater output than the smaller metal laser lights.  The plastic cased Star Shower have held up in the rain and sun well, whereas the metal laser lights have all become waterlogged when left outside and failed.  RoadtripMojo will be on the hunt for additional laser lights with patterns and colors to add to our set up. Let us know if you find any lasers worthy of your campsite.

BONUS: Light it up with Flashlights. At #RoadtripMojo, from flashlights to stick-up puck lights, we can’t seem to have enough of ‘em.  We reviewed some very bright, inexpensive flashlights last month. And we have a stack of el cheapos we keep stashed in the truck, the trailer, the outdoor kitchen, even the pass-thrus. Easy rule: Stick em wherever you might need light and always have spares. Solar powered strip lights work nice and can be very decorative. An interesting, indestructible TINY flashlight is the SLUGHAUS.  Put one on your keychain bottle opener its small enough to fit anywhere, yet puts out a lot of light for its size-  Look for it as a future #RoadtripMojo swag item. We are always looking for advancements in flashlight technology; brighter, yet smaller, without a high price tag.  Have a killer light?, let us know what ya got!
